The Homestead Commission is discussing a large development which will be known as Sandero Landing. This is set to have 1,100 units, along with restaurants and stores. The development will be located on 90 acres of land. The project in question will be built on 90 acres on South 328th Street.
The goal is to create a place where many people can live, work and play. There will be office spaces designed for people who live in the apartments. People will be able to leave their apartments in the morning and go downstairs to work, rather than commuting to an office. “This will be a unique development that will bring a lot of quality design and mixed-use options for the greater downtown area. It will be a place where people will be able to live where they work and also shop. There will be recreation areas for people to enjoy recreation together,” said Commissioner Erica Avila.
Commissioner Larry Roth also believes this development will be good for Homestead. “This is a big deal for the city. This will be the first of its kind because it will be a place where people will able to live, work, and play.” The development will be located near the Florida Turnpike, and commissioners hope both an on and off-ramp can be placed on the turnpike for easier access. Mayor Steven Losner said the commission and city leaders are working on the nitty-gritty of creating the project. He hopes to see high-quality stores and restaurants in the project.
