Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love was helped off the field after suffering an apparent lower leg injury with six seconds remaining in his team’s 34-29 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday in São Paulo, Brazil.

Love, attempting to pass to a teammate as the clock was ticking down, was hit by two Eagles defensive players and brought to the ground. He stayed on the field writhing in pain before team doctors examined him. Love was helped to the sideline and did not reenter the game.

Green Bay backup quarterback Malik Willis — who joined the team at the end of August — replaced Love for the final two plays. He threw an incomplete pass and was sacked to end the game.

Love was 17-for-34 passing for 260 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in the loss.

Packers coach Matt LaFleur, asked about the severity of Love’s injury after the game, said “I don’t know.”

Love signed a four-year, $220 million contract in July to remain with the Packers through the 2028 season. The deal included a record $75 million signing bonus and $155 million in new full guarantees, according to ESPN.

Love, who played sparingly his first two seasons in Green Bay, thrived in his first full season as a starter last year.

The 25-year-old started all 17 games last season, throwing for 4,159 yards with 32 touchdowns, 11 interceptions and a 96.1 passer rating. He went 6-2 with 18 touchdowns and only one interception over the final eight games, leading the Packers to the postseason.

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
